Some exciting news to share this afternoon: Play on Pedals has been recognised as a games legacy for Glasgow due to the contribution it will make towards a healthier and more active city.

Glasgow City Council is responsible for overseeing the delivery of legacy within Glasgow. The legacy vision is that the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games will help achieve a healthier, more vibrant city with its citizens enjoying and realising the benefits of sport and the wider, longer term economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits that the games can help to deliver.

The strategy is delivered through a large number of projects structured under six themes which seek to make Glasgow: more Prosperous; more Active; more Inclusive; more Accessible; Greener; and, with an enhanced International image and outlook.

Play on Pedals is really happy to be recognised as a games legacy for Glasgow because we are convinced the project will encourage Glasgow’s kids to be more active, to have more fun and to live healthier lives.
