Play on the Longest Day events

Fantastic news, six organisations have successfully applied to the Council’s Land and Environmental Services (LES) for free Road Closure to “Play on the Longest Day”. LES will put up barriers to close the roads below to through traffic to allow children, parents/carers and neighbours to ride bikes, play games, skip, jump, share food and drink and generally have fun out of doors on the street where they live.

The LES Road Safety Team are also supporting two of the events with cycle proficiency sessions and Play on Pedals, will also be supporting some of the events on the Saturday offering taster cycling sessions to under 5s.

Play on Pedals will join the Baltic Street Adventure Playground team, alongside PEEK and Playbusters to deliver free taster cycling sessions to under 5s. Play on Pedals will be at the event, delivering the sessions from 12-2pm on Saturday 21st June.

We will also be at the Maryhill Play Team Road Closure event at the same time, 12-2pm on Saturday 21st June on Northumberland Street for more taster sessions.

These events are free and fun for everyone to join so why not pop along and see what all these fantastic groups have to offer you and your family.
