Balance Bike Sessions

FEBRUARY 18th – With nurseries and P1-P3 children returning to school, we’re resuming limited number sessions in East Lothian. See below.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we’ve been unable to run our regular drop in sessions, family rides and workshops in 2020. The current situation is still limiting what we’re able to do but we’re pleased to be able to use our Transport Scotland funding for East Lothian, to deliver some bookable sessions for pre-schoolers.

Carefully following Sport Scotland guidance, we’re running some limited number, balance bike only sessions in Tranent and Dunbar. To limit travel, our instructors are only working in the school catchment town nearest to them.

To book, please select the appropriate link.

In Glasgow, our instructors will be focusing on supporting nurseries with Play on Pedals sessions and we’ll review community sessions once we’re fully out of lockdown.

  1. Hi there,

I see there are sessions for balance bike only – my little girl is 4yrs old and can almost ride her Mike without stabilisers – has difficulty starting and stopping on her own!
Would she be able to attend any of these sessions with her bike?

    1. Hi Jolene,
Under normal circumstances, we run pedal bike sessions too but as these often involve the instructor in direct contact with the children to support their back and shoulders to get them started / get the pedal positions correct etc, we’re not running these at the moment. This is to allow the instructors to keep a safe distance form the children.
Our Pedal Ready video gives some tips on how to start. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdFTsJ5D9_0
Sorry we can’t be of more help at the moment.
